Doyle Brunson Meets With Phelps
A live poker legend, winner of many WSOP bracelets - Doyle Brunson, met another Olympic legend recently - Michael Phelps, the winner of 2008 Beijing Olympics in swimming.
Past weekend Michael Phelps with his friends were in Las Vegas. On Saturday, he had dinner with Doyle Brunson, and with few other professional poker players. Instantly, rumors started to fly around, about that Phelps may join Doyles Room online poker site.
Doyle Brunson only said this:
“What a nice kid! He had a bunch of his friends from home with him and they were the guests of the Palms Hotel and Casino. I got a call that he was an avid poker fan and wanted to meet me, Todd, and Hoyt Corkins. Jennifer Harman and her husband Marco were also there.”
They spend most of the time talking about poker, tactics, tips and Doyle ended up answering questions from Phelps and his friends.
Why such a buzz around Phelps? Well, it’s no wonder, that after he won eight Olympic medals in swimming, after his 8th win at Bejing, he mentioned about his poker hobby. It isn’t actually a hobby, I would call it more stronger word - love! He became a regular visitor of Windsar Casino, plus he’s regularly playing online poker.
We remind you, that Phelps was also invited to Asian Poker Tour In Macau recently, and Betfair also invited him to go to 2008 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event, paying all the fees for him.
Here is what Doyle added about Phelps:
“Michael said all he wanted to do in life was to eat, swim and play poker”
